Bodily Sensation Mapping
A structured way to locate emotions in the body, drawing on University of Turku research into where different feelings tend to be felt. Rather than starting with the question "what am I feeling", you start with the question "where". For people whose access to emotion words is patchy or unreliable, the body is often a steadier place to begin.
You'll work with a simple human outline and a small set of prompts. Over time the maps build up into something you and your therapist can look at together — a record of how your inner weather actually shows up, in the place it actually lives.
What you'll do
Look at a body outline and shade or mark the areas where you feel something right now, or where you felt something during a recent moment. Add a short note if words come; leave it wordless if they don't.
Who this is for
This module is part of the alexithymia-focused work at Healing Is Here. If you're a client in therapy here and your therapist has shared a link with you, that's where to start.
