Preference-Based Inference

A sideways route into emotional life. Instead of asking "what am I feeling?" — a question that for many alexithymic people produces only static — you ask "what do I like, what do I dislike, what do I want more of, what do I want less of?" Preferences are often easier to notice than feelings, and they carry a lot of the same information.

Over time, patterns in your likes and dislikes become a kind of map. They point at values, at unmet needs, at what soothes and what grates. Naming the feeling can come later, or not at all — the work is still useful either way.

What you'll do

Move through short prompts about everyday things — sounds, places, kinds of conversation, ways of being approached — and mark what you lean towards and away from. The platform tracks the shape of your preferences over time.
